BRS Ipyporã ("belo começo" em guarani): híbrido de Brachiaria da Embrapa. Infoteca-e
VALLE, C. B. do; EUCLIDES, V. P. B.; MONTAGNER, D. B.; VALERIO, J. R.; MENDES-BONATTO, A. B.; VERZIGNASSI, J. R.; TORRES, F. Z. V.; MACEDO, M. C. M.; FERNANDES, C. D.; BARRIOS, S. C. L.; DIAS FILHO, M. B.; MACHADO, L. A. Z.; ZIMMER, A. H..

Cytogenetic evidence for genome elimination during microsporogenesis in interspecific hybrid between Brachiaria ruziziensis and B. brizantha (Poaceae) Genet. Mol. Biol.
Mendes-Bonato,Andréa Beatriz; Risso-Pascotto,Claudicéia; Pagliarini,Maria Suely; Valle,Cacilda Borges do.
Microsporogenesis was analyzed in an interspecific hybrid between an artificially tetraploidized sexual accession of Brachiaria ruziziensis (R genome) and a natural apomictic tetraploid accession of B. brizantha (B genome). Chromosomes associated predominantly as bivalents. From this phase to the end of meiosis, chromosomes presented irregular segregation and abnormal arrangement in the metaphase plate. During metaphase I, in 27.8% of meiocytes, bivalents were distributed in two metaphase plates. In anaphase I, two distinct and typical bipolar spindles were formed. In 29.7% of pollen mother cells, one genome did not divide synchronically, with chromosomes lagging behind or not segregating at all. The second division was very irregular, resulting in...

Intra- and intergenomic chromosomal pairing in artificially polyploidized elephant grass and pearl millet hybrids PAB
Santos,Fernanda Motta da Costa; Torres,Giovana Augusta; Techio,Vânia Helena; Pereira,Antônio Vander; Davide,Lisete Chamma.
Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate, by genomic in situ hybridization (GISH), pairing configurations as potential indicators of recombination between chromosomes of different parental genomes, in two interspecific hybrids (elephant grass x pearl millet) artificially polyploidized. Anthers from young flower buds were used in the chromosomal preparations. The genomic probe was prepared with pearl millet DNA and labeled with biotin-16-dUTP by the nick translation reaction. Blocking DNA was prepared with genomic elephant grass DNA. The homoeologous intergenomic pairing, observed in the two hybrids, indicates the possibility of recombination between chromosomes of the parental genomes.

Introgression of cultivated sunflower in exotic Helianthus petiolaris populations JBAG
Gutiérrez,A; Cantamutto,M; Poverene,M.
Cultivated sunflower Helianthus annuus and the wild exotic H. petiolaris are sympatric species in an extensive region of central Argentina. Both species are sexually compatible, they overlap their flowering time and share pollinators in the region. Although there are important barriers to introgression between them, interspecific hybrids are occasionally found in contact zones. We present evidences of crop introgression in H. petiolaris populations under natural conditions and controlled and semi-controlled crosses in the experimental field using morphological traits. If crop genes persist in subsequent generations after hybridization, it could then be possible to find crop morphological traits and molecular markers in hybrid offsprings. Plants of H....

The ground orchids ‘Pecteilis sp.’ have great potentials for development to commercial scale. This orchid group rest in dry season and flowering in rainy season, less taking care; so, it can be developed to pot plant similar to tulip. This research aims to develop new Thai orchid product for commercial scale by research and development. This work was done at Sisaket Horticulture Research Center during 2006-2011. It was collection of, the orchids ‘Pecteilis sp.’ from natural in north-east Thailand and market, 810 orchid plants included 500 plants of Pecteilis sagarikii and 310 plants of Pecteilis susannae. Moreover, four good parent lines were selected, and a pair of intergeneric hybrid between Pcteilis x Habenaria was bred for commercial scale.
